Avtodor may finance Moscow–Kazan highway with people’s bonds
MOSCOW, Jul 17 (PRIME) -- State highway operator Russian Highways, also known as Avtodor, is considering an issue of bonds for the households to finance construction of a new high-speed highway M12 Moscow–Kazan, CEO Vyacheslav Petrushenko said in an interview to the Avtodor radio station aired on Friday.
“As highway construction should develop as actively as possible and as budget doesn’t always have enough money, we consider different options of raising money for construction, including perpetual bonds, and we are also considering placement on the bond market in which individuals will be able to partake,” Petrushenko said.
The money invested in highway construction is protected, and the return on investment is secured by the vehicle traffic through the return is not large, he said.
